Power Pitch Jerk Update

High-pitch action for giant pelagic species, and a slow approach to unknown monsters. The PPJ series is reborn, now enhanced with TORAYCA carbon for the next generation of performance.

The “PPJ series,” developed as Slow Emotion PPJ, has earned strong support from many big-game anglers and established the concept of Power Pitch Jerking. Now, after approximately eight years, the series has been renewed. While inheriting the core characteristics of the previous generation, each model has slightly different applications and target areas, but the most significant overall improvement is in “power and durability strength.” Compared to the previous models, every size now handles a wider range of jig weights, expanding versatility across various fishing situations.

The use of TORAYCA® T1100G has been adopted

The PPJ series was originally built using 30t and 24t carbon as the main ply materials for the blanks. In this renewal, the previously used 30t carbon has been replaced with TORAYCA® T1100G. This material is known for higher elasticity and greater strength compared to conventional 30t carbon. This change in material has significantly transformed the overall performance of the entire series.

Improved durability in the PPJ UPDATE series

In the previous PPJ series, the breaking strength at a 60-degree angle was approximately 10kg on average, which was already considered “very strong” even among comparable class rods. With the adoption of TORAYCA® T1100G and the development of a new blank structure, the average breaking strength has been increased to around 20kg, achieving roughly double the previous strength. Remarkably, the overall weight of each model has remained almost unchanged, with some models even becoming lighter than the previous generation. Without increasing blank weight, the combination of advanced materials and optimized carbon wrapping design has enabled this significant gain in strength.

A true evolution (UPDATE)

The result is a significant increase in power and approximately double the durability strength. Despite this, the rod weight remains the same as the previous model—or in some cases, even lighter.

For example, the B-60 model previously weighed 180g, but with nearly double the durability strength, it has been reduced to 175g, resulting in a lighter feel and an even smoother, more comfortable jerking performance. This represents a highly valuable evolution (UPDATE).

In addition, multiple refinements have been made to ensure longer usability. The Ocean Blue blank color has been improved for greater resistance to fading and wear, while the EVA grip section has been reinforced and thickened in key areas to reduce the risk of damage.

Overall, every aspect has been upgraded, resulting in a fully renewed and improved model.
