Who is Daisuke Yamagishi?
Native trout expert, nicknamed ‘The Great Trout Fisherman’.
On weekends, he travels to the Tohoku region and fishes all over the country, not only famous rivers but also small streams in the surrounding areas. He has encountered countless Shaku Yamame (giant landlocked salmon) and many more over 40 cm in length.
He is also familiar with the amago habitat in the Chubu region, and has even started fishing the main streams, mainly for cherry salmon. With the physical fitness he has developed in martial arts, he covers such a wide area that he says he ‘doesn't have a home river’.
His overwhelming passion for trout never ends, and he is constantly researching rods, lures and other tools and equipment to ensure he never misses an encounter with a trout, which may only happen once in a lifetime.
