A plug built purely for mid-strolling
Designed by Kazufumi Yamaoka, the Glimmer 7 is a hard bait made for one job: mid-strolling. Shake the rod and it answers with a tight rolling action through the middle of the water column - the presentation that soft baits made famous, now in a plug.
Why a plug
The idea came from a frustration every mid-strolling angler knows: in clear water you can watch a bass take the bait fully into its mouth and still not hook up. Building the presentation into a plug lets you run trebles, and the hook-up rate climbs accordingly.
Magnet-held front hook and a tinsel tail
The front hook is held against the back by a magnet, and the rear hook carries a tinsel dressing. Together they keep the bait tracking straight and improve how easily it is drawn in on the bite - so the action and the hooking both work.
Its pulling power is the other surprise: fish appear out of water you were sure was empty.
