The ultimate finesse crawler bait. The Aventa RS Chiquita is a highly technical crawler bait made from natural cedar wood, inheriting the uncompromising dead-slow retrieve performance of the legendary Aventa RS, which featured natural paulownia wood. While preserving that supreme slow-crawling action, the Chiquita pushes the limits further - now fully capable of handling mid- to high-speed retrieves, all in the smallest class body.
Why cedar wood
Despite its compact size of less than 5cm, the Aventa RS Chiquita delivers performance that rivals its larger sibling thanks to its use of cedar wood. Cedar offers buoyancy close to that of the paulownia wood used in the original Aventa RS, while also boasting superior durability, water resistance and strength - qualities so trusted that it is used in traditional Japanese flooring and even in some of the most iconic crankbaits in American fishing history.
During development, the Chiquita's significantly smaller body - akin to a tiny cicada - posed challenges. Paulownia, while buoyant, lacked the strength and water resistance needed for such a small body to support wings and hook hardware. After extensive testing of various natural woods, cedar emerged as the ideal material, striking the perfect balance of grip on the water, natural texture and structural integrity.
Dead slow, then burn it
The Chiquita fuses two seemingly contradictory traits: the ultra-dead-slow performance inherited from the original Aventa RS, and genuine high-speed capability. Whether mimicking the desperate surface struggles of a cicada or a frog, it lets any angler create subtle, death-throes ripples with minimal movement. And when the situation calls for it, a sudden burst of speed turns the Chiquita into a fleeing baitfish, triggering aggressive reaction strikes.
