By modifying the key HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR and increasing the gear tooth width, we've improved winding performance and rotational durability, making it possible to confront even larger bluefish and rockfish. Additionally, this reel reduces the burden on the angler during deep-water fishing, and you will experience a rotational performance superior to that of the 21 SALTIGA IC.
It is equipped with anode protection, a first for a DAIWA IC counter reel. By changing the pinion's bearing to a specification that can be maintained and replaced by the angler, it's now possible to maintain both salt resistance and initial performance for a long time. This reel is compatible with DAIWA CONNECTED, which links to a smartphone. The depth (≈ line length), which could previously only be understood via the IC counter and depth alarm, can now be checked on wearable or hearable devices, and optimized to suit each angler's style. Furthermore, the Dotera Depth Display function makes it possible to understand the lure's position more accurately.
DAIWA CONNECTED was created to provide new value to the fishing world, with the goals of achieving "easy setup," "functional evolution," and "a new experience." DAIWA CONNECTED is comprised of two technologies, "Electric Mobile Setting" and the "DAIWA Connecting System," and represents a "reel that connects with a smartphone." The "DAIWA Connecting System" is installed on baitcasting reels and wakasagi reels. By linking with wireless-compatible reels, you can perform functional updates and review data acquired from the reel.
