The Deepest of the Line

IK-800R2 is the super-deep crank of the series, developed for the big bass that stack around 8m in wakasagi lakes. The body was worked for aerodynamics and borrows the air-lip effect proven on the Eater II, so it leaves the rod like an arrow; the wide lip acts as a stabiliser and keeps it flying dead straight. On a cast it reaches 5.5m — the deepest in its class — and dragging inside 50m takes it past 8m (12lb fluorocarbon). Fit a quick-changer sinker (5g recommended) to the optional hanger and distance, depth and coverage all improve sharply, letting you shave the 8–10m band even inside a 50m dragging limit.

The Imakatsu Crank Project

The brief for the whole IK Crank line was not a bait for one narrow situation. It was a baseline crank anyone can trust through all four seasons — one that casts well for any angler and, on a plain steady retrieve, automatically holds a set depth across a lot of water. The series does not pick its user.
