A rod that covers a wide casting weight range, with a focus on operability. This is the 4.11 model.
Handling minnows and spoons was possible with existing rods. But anglers wanted a rod that could also throw heavier lures and impart nimble actions. The challenge, however, was to do this without losing the ability to cast 3g lures, as that would result in a one-sided fishing rod. It was from this paradox that the 4.11L was born.
To achieve this, the entire rod has been given a slightly stronger stiffness, setting the power to an L class. From the butt to the belly, the rod is sharp and crisp, but when the tip bends, the rest of the rod follows, creating a powerful hook-setting force.
With enough flexibility to load the tip with even a lightweight 3g balsa plug, this rod's good bite-friendliness effectively prevents short bites from being missed. By breaking through this difficult balance, it can produce a bullet liner cast in a wide weight range of 3-18g. This provides a nimble action to the lure and makes it possible to bring in large trout over 60cm without being overpowered.
In terms of its finish, the rod has been streamlined, and by achieving the lightest weight in Fishman's history at 89g, it is finished as a super-aggressive rod that is less tiring on the arm and can face the field all day long.
