Tetsuo Tanabe has leaned on the jigging spoon for years as one of the very few hard baits that still produces in midwinter, and Metal Wasaby is that experience fed back into a bait designed from scratch around one thing: catching fish.
The distinctive shape is balanced to give a sliding action and a wobbling fall at the same time, and to throw them out irregularly rather than on a rhythm. The alloy body is there for the sound of the hooks striking it, which pulls fish in.
It also has a strong record with the "shooting" technique - searching for bass on the depth finder and dropping straight down on them. For anyone who fishes jigging spoons seriously, this is the metal jig they have been waiting for.
